I just found some more papers that seems very interesting.
Yu, Peter K., "Currents and Crosscurrents in the International Intellectual Property Regime" . Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review, Vol. 38, 2004 Available at SSRN: http://ssrn.com/abstract=578572
This one shows how the actual intellectual property regime is a product of interactions between different "currents and crosscurrents".
There are factors pushing toward harmonization and uniformity, and other ones that goes against them. What we obtain is that Itellectual property regime is an ongoing project.
Friese, Jan, Jung, Udo, Rohm, Thomas and Spettmann, Ralf, "Intellectual Property: An Underestimated and Undermanaged Asset?" . Journal of Business Chemistry, Vol. 3, No. 1, pp. 42-48, September 2006 Available at SSRN: http://ssrn.com/abstract=887285
The second paper points out how IP has become one of the main sources of competitive advantage for firms, and despite that many companies still are unable to understand that and are unable to manage IP properly. The article shows how companies coan develop and take advantage from Ip following a three-step approach.
Arewa, Olufunmilayo, "Strategic Behaviors and Competition: Intangibles, Intellectual Property and Innovation" (August 1, 2006). Northwestern Public Law Research Paper No. 586483 Available at SSRN: http://ssrn.com/abstract=586483 or DOI: 10.2139/ssrn.586483
Finally third paper remarks the same concepts of the second one showing how intangibles can nowaday be used even as offensive strategic weapons. Starting from this assumption the paper suggests more complex pictures of incentives with respect to intellectual property, and invites to put greater attention to implications of IP rights in new markets, competition and future innovation.
